We were seated in a very pretty room with lots of windows facing green hedges, which was nice. Service was very good. Both of us really enjoyed our meals. The appetizer of sliced potato was especially delicious. Price was fair for the value we recieved. Portions were generous in size. Outdoor patio was a good sized space, charming and beautifully lit at night. The only thing that will stop us from returning is the haunted house/ghost issues. Read up on it. One of the staff said it is ongoing. That is too creepy for me, even though neither of us experienced anything when we were dining. If that doesn't deter you, this could well become a favorite dinner spot to eat.

Service is (and for the two times I've been here) impeccable. Friendly, genuine and really accommodating. 6 stars out of five, and that's so unlike me to go over the top, but well deserved! Shane put up with my questions and expectations, and Maddie was so nice making a guest feel special. Ambiance and service brings me back each time. Set in a house with 6 rooms each that have a unique character...that's the top. Now for food and bevvies. Dinner is the highlight for me hands down that would have me here daily or at least every month I head to NorCal and drive down for the weekend to chill. Happy Hour is a mixed bag. That's this time. The M&M cocktail Mescal based with Amaro and bitters was nice but the Old Fashioned took it. The Pineapple Fresca (tequila, pineapple, lime) missed the mark for me with a unique taste but more tart than fresh (too bad since it looked good). Perhaps paired with something that could hold up a candle like a key lime pie or salad vinaigrette but I digress. Pizza is a focus of the HH menu. Shiitake Mushroom pizza needed some EVOO to highlight the nice chew in the dough and shiitakes. But it was the pesto that muted the flavors, that's for me. Surely many would love pesto but I'm looking for fresh and take flavor profile one notch up. Soft pillowy with a char oven taste. Good. The Duck Mousse Toast was good but again a bit muted. I wanted more cilantro (sorry haters!) and briny gherkins to provide some acidity to smooth not strong at all liver mousse. Toast were nice but this is coming from someone who loves foie gras. So for those uninitiated, this is strong middle road entry into Duck liver. Would love to see some more acidity elevate the flavors, but who am I to say. I'll be back next time as I eat around the menu...but for dinner or at least ordering off that menu. Enjoy!

Five stars EVERY time! A gem in Monterey! Service is a 10 with Stefan!! An absolute delight!! We don't go out often so it is very special ambience food friendliness !! We loved our wine choices along with radicchio salad! Main dishes were the fabulous pork chop and their autumnal agnolotti (pasta with butternut squash sauce). They make their pasta in house. The chocolate dessert with killer crunch was to die for...(forgot name) This is a special place for us .. who are very very discriminating..

This review is long overdue. My husband and I visited Stokes Adobe in early May 2024 and it is hands down one of the best restaurants locally. The food...it's absolutely decadent. If you do nothing else for an appetizer, get the potatoes. Yes. Get them. The service was lovely, our server was a young man who gave very thoughtful recommendations throughout the meal. I can't speak to their wine list as we brought our own. The corkage fee was not unreasonable. The restaurant is appointed in a way that you feel comfortable and cozy but still elegant. Make a reservation, they get busy. Parking can be challenging.

I talked to someone at the restaurant and they really made an effort to explain what happened and make things right for us. I updated my review to a 4 and we'll definitely be back to give them another try to get that 5th star. Thanks Stokes Adobe (and madi)

Our favorite place to dine on the Monterey Bay peninsula, we have been going to Stokes Adobe for many years (including the prior name). We always come here every time we are in the area including our wedding anniversary and weekends away. Their menu is excellent, craft cocktails are unique and delicious, and the ambience is incredible. Stokes is a historic building in the Monterey bay and I would encourage you to look up its history. We had the Tagliatelle and Halibut...outstanding! Their wine selection is great and my favorite, the Dr Captain Old Fashioned is fantastic. The bartender who created it was rated as one of the top local talents. Parking can be a challenge. If you arrive early, on the side La and back of the building is your best bet. Otherwise, you may have a short walk. The outdoor seating has many places to sit. They have fire pits and blankets available incase it gets cold. Give this place a try!!! You will not be disappointed!!!

What a great little gem in Monterey! Located close to Downtown in a historic adobe--there is lots of great history there. You do feel the essence of being in a historic house, but the vibes here are super cozy. The patio was super cute and cozy as well with lots of torches to keep you warm. The service here is great. Our waiter Rachel was the best. She was super attentive, but gave us space to enjoy our meal. The food was delicious. We started with the wood fire garlic bread--make sure you get this it was a garlic, cheesy, baked heaven. I also got a cauliflower bisque--so good--the chili oil really elevated this. For my entree, I got the carbonara. This reminded me of cacio e Pepe, as it was very cheesy and pepper, but was yummy--with handmade pasta, snap peas, and pancetta, it was the perfect flavor and texture. Overall, if you are visiting like we were highly recommend this spot!
